Tonight's Tech Check: Mp3/video players |
Tonight, Sam and Chase talked about portable video players - specifically the Creative Zen Vision M (which Chase favors) and the Ipod video (Sam's favorite). They both cost roughly the same (30gb model), and they both play audio and video well. The Video Ipod has a great interface, is thinner and lighter and handles podcasts better through Apple's Itunes. Its drawbacks include weak battery life on video playback (2 hours), and it doesn't come with an external power adapter (but will charge through your computer). The Zen Vision M has longer video playback (4 hours), an FM tuner and recorder, a voice recorder, and actually comes with a power cord for charging when away from your computer. On the downside, it's thicker, heavier, not as much of a status symbol, and the interface isn't quite as good as the Ipod. Both are getting rave reviews, and if you are interested in buying a video/mp3 player, eiher is a good place to start. Check out the buyer's guides below for information on other mp3/video players like the Archos.
