4 Steps to Try Before You Call The IT Guy....
When your peripherals attached to your computer stop working, the first thing you should do is NOT call your resident geek for help. Try these things first, and your geek will love you for it. ;)

1. RTM..... Read the Manual - Most manuals today are easier to understand and have common trouble shooting sections that may address the problem.

2. Visit the manufacturer's website (i.e. epson.com, canon.com...) Their support sections have drivers and even more troubleshooting specific to your item.

3. Ask Google: Type your question into the google.com search engine just as you would ask it and see if your problem is a common one for your item. Try rewording it if nothing comes up.

4. Don't Be Afraid to Tinker: NOT ALOT!!! But you can check the cables connecting to your computer from your peripheral, uninstalling your printer and re-installing it is very simple and sometimes can solve your problem. Also, if you're having trouble printing to a network printer, try turning your firewall off and then print..... Just DON'T FORGET to turn your firewall back on when you're finished.

Doing these things will definitely give your geek a much needed reprive and they will love you for it. Thank you for watching TechCheck and don't forget to listen to our radio show every Saturday from 11:00 to Noon on Alabama's Big Talker, AM1070WAPI!
